It's getting close now. We arrive in Athens on August 2nd. We're staying at the AVA Suites, much recommended by Tripadvisor, and which promises a view of the Acropolis from our terrace. YES! The 23rd World Congress in Philosophy will last for a week, during which time I'll be free to roam Athens, hopefully sometimes with Oswaldo if he can get away. Then we fly to Chania, Crete, where the plan is to rent a car and stay for 3 nights in the Venetian Harbor. On the fourth day we drive to Heraklion on the other side of the island, stay overnight, and then catch the hydrofoil to Santorini. 3 nights in another wonderful hotel and then back to Athens for one night at the Sofitel Airport hotel, since we have a 6am departure for our August 19 flight back to Rio.
